| Memorial Day, 2010, Levrett Pond |
Ten months ago, I posted some pictures from last year's Memorial Day when you would have thought everyone in eastern Massachusetts was grilling over charcoal. The air was hazy with that sweet woody aroma. Eventually I learned Quebec was on fire.
Pictured: Two homeless men who seemed to be enjoying a (loosely defined) picnic of some sorts before the photographer came along on his stroll through one of Frederick Law Olmsted's manufactured sylvan landscapes in the middle(ish) of a northeastern metropolis. This green scar (oh yes, scars can be good) ropes its way through the city reeking of meticulous planning, and somehow it still feels natural. Relaxing. Random by design.
