Thunderclouds over Back Bay

Remember that scary thunderstorm that brought tornadoes to western Mass earlier this summer? These clouds passed over Boston around 7. My thoroughly uneducated mind immediately though of the movie Twister (that wonderful, terrible film). What was going on in the atmosphere to cause such raucous clouds? Perhaps this was the remnants of that destructive tornado.

Well, whatever it was, the Hancock tower seemed to be tall enough to deflect the turbulence.
