Punching Tom Hanks for real

One man's memoir viewed through the lens of his intense hatred for actor Tom Hanks. Apparently these guys grew up in the same town and went to school together, and by together I mean they were in the same building. It's really a traditional "I resent the popular kid" story that would have a pig's chance in a slaughterhouse of getting read, let alone published, if Kevin Seccia had never performed the eponymous act on live television.

Basically the them of the book is "why Tom Hanks sucks." At some points it has you pretty convinced, but then you remember things like Apollo 13, or Philadelphia. A lot of people are going to be mad about this book when it comes out, but the vanity project is interesting in a very unintentional way. You can watch a schoolyard grudge devolve into an almost disturbing obsession that boiled over in a very public act of mild violence that has actually partially healed this wounded soul.
