A blustery day with a 30% chance of falling scaffolding

"Good morning. Let's start your workday with something sensational." Falling scaffolding at Faneuil Hall a year after the same kind collapsed at Emerson and killed someone will sure do the trick.

But the thing was, I wasn't too worried if anyone was hurt (or at least I don't remember as such) because I doubted anyone was actually working that early. It was rare to catch anyone working up there at all. What struck me as I fulfilled my duty as a camera phone carrying citizen of the 21st century, was the thought of standing up there in the morning gale as my feet disappear and the ground rushes toward me and the thousands of pounds of metal on which I stand. Even as I half-heartedly fantasized about the prospect of twisted metal in my imaginary future, I knew it wouldn't be that bad. Putting yourself in sublime, faux danger is fun until you realize a two story fall is rather trivial, and that most of that fall would probably be more of a slide down the new incline. Never forget that triangles are one of the strongest shapes.

FYI, they finished the project with a cherry picker.
