Diary: in the loosest of terms

Yep. Diary December.

Citizens Bank endeared themselves to me for quite a while. The whole "good banking is good citizenship" thing really got to me. The euro-socialist/idealist deep inside me tried so hard to believe it, but I find myself out in the cold. That might be too dramatic. I'll just call it an uncomfortable bus station that hasn't been cleaned yet today. I ground my teeth down to nubs trying to withhold my reaching-through-the-telephone-and-strangling-someone-until-I-got-my-money-back reflex when a customer service rep told me there was nothing I could do about getting the $148.15 someone charged to my debit card in Colorado while I was gleefully using it in Boston debited back to my account for ten days, while an investigation was conducted. They're bound by procedure. Fine. Whatever. Send me a new debit card and some whiskey to help me forget about being treated, not like shit, but like a mildly suspicious asshole by the people I have entrusted EVERYTHING I HAVE EARNED IN THE PAST SIX YEARS to.

So now I'm still waiting for a new debit card to arrive at my parents' house (joint accounts are SO college) because the first time I asked for one they apparently ignored me. Hopefully I can get that soon enough so that none of my monthly internet subscriptions is put on hold. [I know. First world problems. Just shut up.]

Say hello to Ally Bank. My less evil savior. Free, interest bearing checking with free checks and ATMs everywhere, and some decent interest on a FREE savings account. Too bad I can't dump my credit card too. I guess building up some credit history is important or something.

And so, I gradually begin to bid adieu to the Royal Bank of Scotland (what did you think RBS Citizens stood for?). May you eat spoiled haggis and spend the rest of the week in the loo.
