Paranoia?

I guess bullies will always... okay, this should have been obvious: haters gonna hate. For all the hundreds of honks, waves, cheers, and other expressions of support from people driving by Dewey Square, I have seen maybe eight people should some version of "Get a job!" at us. Now there are spurious claims of a $2 million overtime price tag for the Boston Police, started by a city councilor and essentially "no comment"ed by a police spokesperson, and a food truck festival scheduled for October 15th has been cancelled, when no one ever asked Occupy Boston if they could find a way to work it out. Mayor Menino has also drastically changed tack and said the occupation will not be tolerated for much longer.

The cynic in me screams that this all reeks of a co-ordinated public relations attack on the movement in order to minimize backlash when they finally decide to arrest the protestors who decide to defend the camp when the time comes. Police have already demonstrated they know the easiest way to attack us. When most of the city is asleep and some protestors who have to wake up in the morning have to go home. They even told media to leave before raiding peaceful protestors.

I want to believe that I'm being paranoid. I really do, especially because I'm not normally that kind of a person. Spiteful Twitter accounts and cries of "dirty hippies" on  Facebook must be getting to me. That sounds so lame. Goodnight.
