I just remembered I forgot
Hundreds of pigeons leapt from the sidewalk wehn I approached. They swarmed around me in a grey cloud. Wingtips brushed against me as my body stiffened in terror. The vortex I waited for only made it up to a breeze strong enough to muss up my hair with a cooing cacophony. After a couple minutes they scattered, revealing a library full of gold leaf spines and dark stained wood. A nurse asked if I was ready, and sat me down in a leather chair with brass hardware. She swabbed the inside of my elbow as the scent of alcohol rose through the air. Other studiers looked on as she gently stuck the needle into my vein and I watched my maroon drain into a plastic bag.
