Nostalgia Confidential

Well I was digging through the internet, trying desperately to not do my project, and found a very interesting little but of video game history. It seems that Pac-Man got a little caught up in a generation he helped define.

He was also apparently a big Magnum P.I. fan. This very well hidden (on the internet? I know, I was surprised too) photograph appears to be from the summer of 1983. It coincides with strange remarks from an interview with Ms. Pac-Man in Electronic Games Magazine. When asked what her husband was up to, she replied, "He's laying on a beach somewhere with that [expletive deleted] caterpillar. I hate that thing." Readers initially speculated this was a reference to an upcoming Pac-Man sequel with new enemies, but those hopes were never realized, and this odd comment was never explained.

I stumbled across this gem on an old abandoned Magnum P.I. themed message board. Someone had unearthed negatives that were shot during filming on set in Hawaii. Here's the text that accompanied the picture...
Hey guys! My dad worked on Season 4 and just found these sweet photos he took while they were shooting "Home From the Sea!" Here's the first pic I scanned. I'll post more when I'm done with my homework.
Unfortunately the pictures never showed up. Maybe Selleck's people found out and shut him down to cover it all up. Maybe the poster had some serious troubles with calculus, or he just got grounded for manhandling his dad's old negatives. Hell, I wouldn't want my teenage kid playing around with a negative scanner from the late 90's or early 2000's.

I wouldn't put it past Namco to do anything within its power to keep the old yellow guy's image from being tarnished either. It's a good thing I saved this picture when I did. A few hours after contacting Namco for comment, the whole message board had just disappeared.
